DESIGNS OF DISTINCTION - BROWN WOOD

Brown Wood Inc. has been supplying fine quality, Made In America, custom components for more than 85 years. Our work with custom manufacturers in furniture, store fixture, and consumer products has allowed us to be at the forefront of the ever changing design world.

In 1998, we realized that there was a need for high quality decorative wood elements for the Kitchen and Bath markets. Design was changing. Consumers wanted layered finishes, varied heights and depths, islands the size of their old kitchen, mouldings that matched their doors and corbels for their custom hoods. Seeing the need, we created Designs of Distinction®, a premier line of decorative wood accessories.

In the last 15 years, the Designs of Distinction® line has grown from 100 decorative elements to more than 3500 components, all available for immediate shipment. These components make up our 30 designer collections.

Each collection evokes a certain mood. Warmth and hospitality are the highlights of some of our traditional collections including our English Estate and Classic Revival collections, while simple elegance is the key to the Arts and Crafts, Simplicity, and Shaker collections. The exacting detail and refined carvings of the Infinity, Celtic and Nouveau collections define graciousness and hospitality, while the detail of the tapered cuts in the Palladian and Pinnacle collections feature classic simplicity, and restrained graciousness. Our Baroque and Empire collections meld the warmth of wood with the strength of iron and our Bungalow collection features the understated style of Art Nouveau.

Our latest achievements include the addition of our Brilliance Collection featuring our Patent Pending Light Ready Light Rail™. Designed for use with both framed and frameless cabinetry, you can choose to light a kitchen with task or ambient lighting by applying the LED to either the 45 or 90 degree precut angle. The Brilliance Collection includes carved inserts for our Light Ready Light Rail™ and crown moulding that match 21 of our designer collections. Each designer collection includes table, island and bar height columns with corbels, onlays, bun feet, mouldings and various trim rounding out the collections.
